MISSIONARY GUEST TONIGHT
Join us at 6:30 for worship followed by Campus Crusade for Christ Missionary, Monica Schaeffer, sharing an exciting report on her ministry with college students.
RECEPTION FOR PASTOR BILL & BRENDA
We are planning a reception to honor Pastor Bill & Brenda Robertson for their upcoming retirement. It will be held next Sunday, September 5th from 6:30-8:00pm in the church lobby. Card may be left for them at the Information Desk.
WOMEN’S MINISTRIES
Ladies, you are invited to join us for a delicious homemade lunch, Saturday, September 11th, 11:30am at Gina’s Café, located in downtown Cosby, MO. If you want, you may meet at the church at 11:00am to carpool. Besides the good food, we will also give away some fantastic door prizes and hear from a special guest speaker. Jenny Edwards will be sharing about how God has worked in her family and brought a miraculous healing to her son, Cody, who was seriously injured in a tubing accident. Total cost is $10 per person. To reserve your spot, please sign up and pay in advance at the Information Desk by September 5th.
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY CLASS
Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University is a 13-week class that teaches you how to make and keep a budget, save an emergency fund, get out of debt and live completely debt free. The class will be held here at the church on Wednesday evenings beginning September 8th. Cost for the class is $100.00 per family. If you have been a part of Financial Peace in the past, you can attend again free of charge. If interested in attending, call Jeanette at 279-2090.
SUNDAY SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE
Next Sunday, September 5th, from 10:00-10:30am, we will be holding a Sunday School Open House to kick off the fall quarter of classes. You will have the opportunity to meet teachers and hear about their different class topics. Teachers for student classes will be in their classrooms. Adult class teachers will be set up in the area of the library where refreshments will be served.
RECOVERY GROUP
The Recovery Group will be starting back up after a great summer break. We’re kicking it off with a Potluck Picnic at Krug Park, Thursday, September 9th at 5:30pm. Our weekly meetings will begin Thursday, September 16th at 7pm in Room 101. We would love for you to join us in our journey growing our relationship with God & our recovery.
CALVARY CHAPEL BIBLE CLASSES
This fall, Grace and Calvary Chapel Bible College are teaming up once again to offer a Bible College Class. Beginning Monday, August 30th, from 6-9pm, Tony McDowell will be teaching a class on Romans at Grace. The classes are open to anyone. There is no cost, unless you would like a commentary; however donations will be accepted to offset college operating expenses. If you have questions, please call Tony McDowell at 248-2658.

►September 18th - Saturday. Gospel Music Heritage in Edgerton, MO.
►December 3rd -Friday. Gaither Homecoming Christmas 2010 at the Independence Events Center, Independence, MO. Tickets are $55 per person. Cost includes: ticket, transportation on Heartland bus and driver’s tip. Bus leaves at 5pm. You must sign up and pay Pastor Dennis in advance to hold your spot.

PINK FLAMINGO WIFFLE GOLF EVENT – Best golf movie line: “Ever putt with a wedgie?” Well, come TODAY to the Talbot’s (18 Mackenzie St.) @ 5pm and you just might get a chance. You don’t need skills, equipment, or $$$, we’ve got everything covered including supper. And it’s all FREE! If you haven’t informed Pastor Ken you can do so by texting “GOLF” to 244-9890. Prizes will be given on several holes w/one grand prize per gender.
OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE
Volunteers are needed to clean an area of the church on a weekly basis during the months of September, October and November. Most areas take 1 or 2 hours. If you could serve in this way, please write CLEAN by your name and phone number.
DONATIONS NEEDED
Donations of 2-liter bottles of pop are needed for a Camp Quality Cancer Awareness kick-off on Saturday, September 18th at Grace. Focus4 Youth are organizing a ring toss for the event. Please mark the bottle/s “Camp Quality” and leave your donations at the Information Desk.
KIDS CHURCH
Some backpacks have recently been donated for young students. If your child needs a backpack for school, please see Pastor Dan.
FOCUS4 ANNOUNCEMENTS
►Wednesdays – Drama & Praise Team Practice – 5:30-6:30pm. We will be doing the special for a Sunday in September. We need ALL middle schoolers for this!
